About Us

The Social and Emotional Adjustment Lab, directed by Dr. Ronald Taylor, is located in Philadelphia within Temple University's Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. Our lab examines family and kin relationships, neighborhood conditions, family economic resources, and the social and emotional adjustment of urban minority adolescents and young adults. Currently our research focuses on the role of sleep quality, ethnic identity, social support, and economic stressors in education and their impacts on the outcomes of Black college students. Our interdisciplinary and mixed-methodological approach seeks to fill critical gaps in our understanding of social and emotional adjustment.
